Consultation

image pansy single.jpeg

I offer EMDR consultation for EMDR therapists.  Despite there being official EMDRIA standards, however, there are as many styles of consulting as there are consultants.  It’s important to work with someone who fits not only your learning goals but also your learning style.

I see EMDR as an art, not a science.  It’s an art that’s informed by science, but it’s use requires continuous subjective judgment calls that I think are more accurately characterized as an art form.  As a result, my goal is not to get you to do EMDR like me; my goal is for you to develop your own style that works best for you and your clients.

Examples of reasons to seek consultation include:

  • To complete your initial 10 required hours of consultation after having taken EMDR Basic Training

  • Reviewing how you use EMDR in your practice, including examining situations where you’d like to use EMDR but tend to hesitate

  • You trained in EMDR a while ago and would like to dust-off your skills

  • You’re interested in pursuing EMDR certification

  • You’d like to explore the use of dissociative assessments such as the DESMID, and SDQ

  • You'd like support with more integrative approaches to using EMDR, such as parts work, or using EMDR on chronic pain.

Contact me for a free initial consultation to see if we would be a good fit for working together.  I work with consultees both in-person and online.

Fees

I offer a split and sliding scale depending on whether you are doing your initial 10 hours for Basic Training or after:

For the first 10 hours of consultation following Weekend 1 and Weekend 2, I offer consultation on a reduced rate, sliding scale of $150 to $100 for a 55-minute individual session.

After you have completed those initial ten hours, I charge on a sliding scale $180 to $130 for a 55-minute individual session.
